What We Believe

Faith Commitments

BioLogos roots its commitments in the historical Christian tradition including the Apostle’s Creed. We are committed to these central beliefs of our faith:

  1. There is one God, the almighty Creator and Lord of all things, eternally existing in the three persons of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  2. Jesus Christ is fully God as the divine Logos and only begotten Son. He became fully human as the fullest expression of God’s love. He was crucified and died, bodily resurrected, ascended into heaven, and shall come again.
  3. God sent the Holy Spirit to bear witness to the Son, to convict, renew, and empower God’s people, and to intercede on our behalf.
  4. The Bible is inspired by God, a true revelation of God to humankind, and authoritative for Christian faith and practice.
  5. All humans have value and dignity, created in God’s image to live in love and holiness. Yet all have sinned and are in need of salvation, alienated from God and each other. God shows grace to all who repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
  6. The church worldwide is the body of Christ, a community of worship, witness, and service that is united in the Spirit despite human differences and failings.
  7. God will act to bring about the fulfillment of the divine plan for humans and the created order in the new heaven and new earth.
