Kyle Meyaard-Schaap

Rev. Kyle Meyaard-Schaap is an author and activist with over ten years of experience educating and mobilizing Christians around the world to address the climate crisis as an act of discipleship and neighbor-love. He holds an undergraduate degree in religious studies from Calvin University (B.A. ’12), a Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary (M.Div. ’16), and is ordained in the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA).

Kyle has been named to the American Conservation Coalition’s 30 Under 30, Midwest Energy Group’s 40 Under 40, and the Grist 50 Fixers cohorts for his work on climate change education and advocacy. In 2020, he was named a Yale Public Voices Fellow on the Climate Crisis. His work has been featured in national and international news outlets such as PBS, NPR, CNN, NBC News, Reuters, and The New York Times. His first book, Following Jesus in a Warming World: A Christian Call to Climate Action, was published by InterVarsity Press in February 2023.

Kyle lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife, Allie, and their two sons.
